The Department of the Environment has recently published the Noise Complaints Statistics Report for Northern Ireland 2008-2009. The results showed a 5% drop in the number of complaints received compared to the previous year. The results also revealed that domestic noise accounts for 82% of all complaints, with the commercial and leisure sector generating 9% of complaints. Within the domestic source, animal noise accounts for 47% of complaints and music, television and parties represents 42%.
